Canada's first national historic park. National Battlefields Park is over a hundred years old. Its main sites are the Plains of Abraham (98 hectares) and Des Braves Park (5 hectares).The 1759 Battle of the Plains of Abraham was the defining confrontation between the French and British Empires in North America. Months later, in 1760, the two powers clashed again in the Battle of Sainte-Foy, where Des Braves Park now stands. The urban park welcomes some 4 millions visitors each year!

Hours: Plains of Abraham Museum (visitor reception): Until January 2, 2017. Front doors: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Exhibitions: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Front doors and exhibitions: starting January 3, 2017, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. These hours apply from this date onwards, except from January 27 to 30, 2017 (front doors: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., exhibitions: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Martello Tower 1, summer exhibition (Attention), July 1 to Labour Day 2017, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Joan of Arc Garden and inline skating ring: May to October. Abraham bus, Edwin Bélanger Bandstand and New France exhibit: summer. Halloween activities: October. Decorations and winter sports (cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and equipment rental): mid-December to late March (depending on weather conditions). The Snowshoer: December to March.

Closed: Hours: during the Christmas holidays: closed December 24 to 26, 2016, and January 1, 2017. Front doors and exhibitions only open on January 2, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
