Valcartier Vacation Village is the largest four-season resort in Eastern Canada and one heck of a wonderland for winter fun. The village is close to Québec City’s Old Town—a gorgeous UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here are 3 tips for an amazing trip to Valcartier Vacation Village:

Sliding and Gliding

If there’s a fun way to slide downhill, you’ll find it on the slopes at Valcartier Vacation Village. They’ve got tubes, snow rafts, and a crazy spinning Valcartier exclusive called the Tornado. With 17 mechanical lifts and 35 (yes, 35!) slides, you can sled the day away without getting tired at the biggest winter playground in North America. Love skating? They’ve got that too, with lights and music and hot cocoa and snowbanks.

TIP #1: If you’re new to sledding, start with the easiest slides. Work your way up to the intermediate ones as you gain confidence. Save the thrill of the extreme slides for last.

Hôtel de Glace

Ice Hotel

A North American exclusive, this ephemeral hotel built of snow and ice has over 40 rooms and a variety of suites, each with a different theme. Stay for the night or just stroll around and enjoy the fairy‑tale feel of the place. It’s like a magical ice castle! Winter wonder guaranteed from January 4 to March 26, 2017.

TIP #2: Come and see it during the day and then come back at night for two totally different experiences. In the evening, head to the hotel bar for a cocktail served in a tumbler made of solid ice.

Bora Park

There’s a new indoor waterpark at the Village and it’s over 100,000 sq. ft. It’s attached to a 4-star hotel with 153 suites, a spa, and 5 restaurants. No matter the time of year, the temperature in the waterpark is a balmy 86°F (30°C), which goes nicely with the playful Polynesian theme. With plenty of waterslides, a wave pool, a tubing river, and a double surf wave, it’s fun for the whole family.

TIP #3: Spend a perfect winter’s day on the slides and at Hôtel de Glace, then top it off with a toasty trip to the Bora Park. Heaven!

Have fun!
